Thirty years on every side of the deal.

 Paul Buckle grew up in Toowoomba, the son of a builder. Long before he read a balance sheet, he understood a building site: what things cost, how long they really take, and what happens when either goes wrong. That grounding still shapes how he reads a development.

He spent 17 years with NAB in commercial banking, on the lending side of the table. There he learned how credit is assessed: what makes a deal straightforward to approve, what makes one stall, and why a well-prepared submission gets a better answer, sooner.

As a Partner at Balmain he crossed to the advisory side, arranging debt and equity for acquisition, development and investment across property sectors. Working with banks, non-bank lenders, private funds and investors showed him how each prices risk, and which suits a given deal.

In 2025 Paul established Buckle Capital to focus on delivering for clients directly. The person who takes your first call structures the deal, runs the funder process and stays with it to settlement.

He is also capital adviser to Craft Village Group. Paul is Brisbane-based, and family remains at the centre of why he works the way he does.
